As I begin to type my first blog, I am not sure where to start. I have several ideas as to how I am going to help guide you though your destination wedding planning. So I figure, it is probably best to start at the beginning.
My name is Stephanie. I am an ordinary teacher in Delaware. I live in New Jersey. It has been my dream since I was a child to have a destination wedding. I am not an expert in the area of destination weddings, however, I have planned my entire wedding on my own. I could not find any websites that give you a timeline or much advice in planning a destination wedding. So my solution is to make one to help all of the other brides out there who have no clue where to start.
To begin...my destination wedding plans:
I am engaged to an amazing man who wanted a small, initmate, beach wedding like me. We began to imagine where we wanted to go. Our plan: to have a small wedding with just our parents and brothers on the beach somewhere and then have a huge at home reception with family and friends.
I also imagined my planning to be joyous and easy and wonderful. On the contrary, my mom cried when I talked about the wedding for the first three months. There was the issue with money. There was an issue with dates. It became a huge mess, but I powered through.
Now, final planning is in place and we are getting excited for our big day!
What you can expect from this blog:
1. What the steps are to plan your destination wedding (using my experiences, good and bad)
2. Some tips, tidbits, and locations that you can use to help plan your day.
3. Answering questions that anyone may have.
Next post: You're engaged. Destination or not to destination? That is the question.
